The Metropolitan Region Amsterdam works on a daily basis to develop a smart and sustainable mobility system for a better-connected Europe. The region is crucial for Eirope with a strategic position in the European mobility framework. The mobility system of the region consists of The Port of Amsterdam, Schiphol and the highest number of commuter trips and the busiest railway in the Netherlands. In order to continue the delivery of their standard and tackle challenges in the areas of climate change, cooperation with other regions is of great importance. The focus is on aligning the mobility ambitions within an European collaboration.

To make and keep the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam as one of the most innovative, sustainable and connected regions in Europe, we focus on four topics:  improving cross-border connections and services, stimulating smart mobility solutions, enhancing zero emissions and promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation by ensuring comprehensive cycle networks.
